As the people of our World are living in such uncertain times let us hold on to God's promise throughout 2022!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

19th August 2022
It is with real sadness that Littlehampton Baptist Church have to inform you that their Pastor, Rev. Martin Seymour, passed away at home on Monday morning 15th August.

While very sad, we are, however, able to rejoice that he is out of his pain, and is now “at Home” with the God he loved and served so well.

Pastor Martin was a big man in every way, and no-one who met him will ever forget him. His sense of humour was well known and never unkind, and many are the times that his messages to the church on Sunday mornings have been illuminated by an apt anecdote. But the thrust of his message was always to honour God and help us all to love and serve Him faithfully and more effectively.

Martin began his ministry with us in February 2017.We feel very blessed to have had Martin and his wife Jose with us for the last 5 ½ years, as he enabled us to set up many new initiatives to reach our local community. In particular, he was very fond of the Family Fun Days with the invaluable help of Hannah and Tracy, and volunteers from the Church.

His influence extended far beyond LBC, as he instigated the setting up of the Town Centre chaplains; was Padre to the Veterans and very active with Churches Together, to name just a few. He could, and would, talk with anyone who would talk with him. A real “People” person.

We will miss Martin immensely, but the work he has begun will, with God’s help, continue, and we will continue to enjoy Jose’s fellowship with us.

The funeral of our beloved Pastor took place on Friday the 2nd of September at Littlehampton Baptist Church

The family would welcome donations via 'Go Fund Me' please click on the link

In Memory of Rev. Martin Seymour, organized by Treena Cooper

These would be for the benefit of “Turning Tides” our local charity here in Littlehampton for help for the Homeless, and Littlehampton Baptist church for the children’s work which was so close to Martin's Heart.

In my Fathers House are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you John 14:2

We are a Christian church and believe that all can have a relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus, God's only son, who invites us to follow him.

Our VISION is to be a Holy People, a Healthy Church, working out the Luke 4 Manifesto:

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour." Luke 4:18-19
